What is the plan for Murrieta Hot Springs?
Murrieta Hot Springs was recently renovated and rejuvenated into a wellness resort (and day spa). Features include:

What is the history of Murrieta Hot Springs Resort?
In the early 1900s (1902, to be exact), Fritz Guenther, a German immigrant, developed the land into a resort for people to come and enjoy the water’s therapeutic benefits. It became a major destination.
The property was eventually passed down through generations of the Guenther family, until it changed hands in the early 1970s. Various groups used it for different purposes, but it fell into disrepair in the mid-1980s.
Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa purchased the property in 1995, and created both the Murrieta Hot Springs Christian Conference Center and Calvary Chapel Bible College.
The current owners, Olympus Real Estate Group (who also own The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs, CO!), purchased the property in 2021, with the intent to rejuvenate the property back into a hot springs wellness resort.
With so much tremendous history, this is sure to be a special place to visit, utilizing the unique local natural hot springs and exiting architecture.
Why did Calvary Chapel sell Murrieta Hot Springs?
Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa sold the property to the Olympus Real Estate Group in 2021, after being used as a Christian conference center for over 25 years. The decision was made to sell due to changing usage needs and goals.
Their Bible college campus is now located in Twin Peaks, CA, in the mountains between Crestline and Lake Arrowhead.
Is Murrieta Hot Springs open?
Yes! Murrieta Hot Springs Resort opened in February 2024.
My Experience at Murrieta Hot Springs Christian Conference Center
I attended a conference at the Christian retreat center in 2018! What an extraordinary property!
I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the property – the hot springs were truly unique and the grounds were gorgeous. The beautiful campus featured a lake surrounded by palm trees and lush landscaping, with meandering walkways all around.
The lodgings were comfortable (like hotel rooms), the meeting rooms were perfect, and the food was top notch. Their coffee shop had one of the best americanos I’ve ever tasted!
The most special part about the conference center was the hot springs pools. There was a large swimming pool (rectangular), as well as a round spa-like pool (hot springs Roman spa or bath).
My favorite feature, however, was the natural-look hot springs pools in various places around the campus. What a great place to relax with friends! Some had cascading waterfalls, and each one had a digital display posting the temperature of that particular hot springs pool. Each pool had a different temperature.
