Are you looking for the perfect family getaway in Paris? Look no further than the Best Western Montcalm Hotel! Family Room Review
Notoriously, Paris has very small hotel rooms, which can be incredibly frustrating if your family is too large to fit in a single room. Thankfully, the Best Western Montcalm offers a Family Room that comfortably fits four people.
The 22-23 sq. meter Family Room has 2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 2 single beds) and 1 bathroom, as well as all the modern room amenities you would expect, such as free WiFi access, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a safe, direct dial telephone, and individually controlled air-conditioning in each of the 2 bedrooms.
Did you catch that? Two bedrooms in a Paris hotel! This gives your family the much-needed privacy and space that hotels sometimes lack. And, at an affordable price!
There is minimal other furniture, and there’s no separate living area or sitting area. This wasn’t a problem for us, however, since the bedrooms are at separate ends of the entrance hallway, and they each have a door for privacy. The middle door in the entrance hallway is to the bathroom.
Speaking of the bathroom, it includes a bathtub with showerhead, sink, and toilet. It is big enough for more than one person to be in there at a time.
We also found it to be a clean room. If you really need somewhere else to lounge around, there are several options just steps from the room, which we’ll talk about in the property amenities section below.
Overall, this hotel and its Family Room were perfect for our 6-night stay in Paris!

Location
The Best Western Montcalm hotel is located in the 15th Arr. of Paris, which is more of a residential neighborhood. Don’t let this deter you, though! It’s still very close to all the major tourist attractions in Paris (like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, and Arc de Triomphe, of course!).
From the Best Western Montcalm, we took the Metro to the Trocadero area to meet our photographer for a family photo shoot in Paris!
In fact, we found its location to be a wonderful feature! It gave us a better sense of what it’s like to live in Paris — a great “immersion” experience. And, it was nice and quiet during our stay, in the peaceful district of the 15th arrondissement of Paris!
(If you happen to be in Paris on business, the Best Western Montcalm offers meeting rooms and is in the same part of the city as the Paris Expo Convention Center.)
Metro Station
The hotel is just steps away from the Boucicaut station (Metro Line 8), which can connect you to almost anywhere in the entire city of Paris, including all the main attractions.
I can’t stress how much the Boucicaut station is so conveniently located to the hotel. When leaving the hotel, just cross the street, go left, walk past the Starbucks, and head down the stairs. It’s literally a one or two minute walk!
When returning to the hotel, there’s actually an escalator up out of the station! When you exit at the top of the escalator, you’ll already be on the same side of the street as the Best Western Montcalm. No crossing the street to get back to the hotel! Such easy access! It’s amazing!
Restaurants & Supermarkets
Additionally, the hotel is within easy walking distance to many great restaurants (check out Perlamatta!), shops, and supermarkets. Literally around the corner is a Monoprix grocery store, where we bought breakfast foods each day to eat quickly and get going.

There are several services available at the Best Western Montcalm Hotel in Paris, including a 24-hour front desk hotel staff that can provide concierge-type services. We received attentive, outstanding service during our stay.
Buffet Breakfast – A buffet breakfast is available for a surcharge in the hotel’s breakfast room from 7:00 a.m. thru 10:30 a.m. For a further extra charge, the hotel offers a gluten-free breakfast.
Cozy Lounge – At the front of the hotel, just opposite the front desk, is a bright and welcoming comfortable lounge area. The friendly staff will be happy to assist with a relaxing drink.
Sun Room / Veranda – Just beyond the front desk is a lovely sun room (veranda). Overlooking the central outdoor courtyard, this small seating area was a perfect spot to eat our grocery store dinner one night!
Garden – In the center of the hotel is a lovely garden courtyard with a small seating area. The entrance to the Family Room is actually from this outdoor garden. It feels like a villa-style accommodation! So lovely to enjoy the quiet of a beautiful garden!
