Travel Essentials for Women

Let’s talk packing! With all the fabulous products available these days, it can be difficult to sort it all out. My Ultimate Packing List will make sure you don’t forget a single thing, but here I’m narrowing it down to the 7 travel essentials for women…focusing on a fresh face and perfect ways to carry all. the. stuff.

HI THERE! DON’T FORGET TO PIN THIS FOR LATER!

7 Travel Essentials for Women (4 for a Fresh Face)

Protecting your face and putting your best face forward are important every day of the year. When you’re traveling, though, it’s just as important…maybe even more. We’ll start with the end of the day and work our way to morning!

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub

I remember being in Greece, after a day of visiting centuries-old ruins. I also remember being in Hawaii, after a full day at the beach.

What do those two experiences have in common?

My face had been applied with sunscreen and/or dust all day long and needed to be cleansed. I’m sure you can relate!

This facial scrub is the answer. It smells good, feels good, and really does the job of removing the day’s gunk from your beautiful face. I’ll let you know ahead of time (like, right now) that you will look like Elphaba for a minute. But then, it all washes away, and your face feels so, so clean!

Acure Brightening Night Cream

My skin is super combination-y, and a few years ago, I noticed something while applying my mineral foundation. The more I applied, the more dry skin flakes would appear on my face. Yeeks! I needed to find a solution for the dry skin…and fast!

I also shower at night (always have, always will), so right after the facial scrub, I needed an overnight moisturizer that would pave the way for eliminating the dry skin flakes in the morning.

Acure has the perfect product for that as well. Their night cream is a nice, light overnight moisturizing cream that’s a perfect combo with the facial scrub.

Thayers Alcohol-Free Unscented Toner

Since I’ve scrubbed and moisturized the night before, in the mornings I need a light cleansing, before putting on makeup (or going makeup free!). This is where an alcohol-free unscented toner comes into play.

Why alcohol-free? Without alcohol as an ingredient, it can be less drying.

Why unscented? Sensitive skin like mine needs to say no to fragrances and the like.

This toner by Thayers is perfectly refreshing and cleansing, without drying or causing irritation.

Babo Botanicals Sheer Face Sunscreen

The final step for your fresh (travel) face is sunscreen…but not just any sunscreen. You need a sunscreen that’s got high SPF, blends in well, moisturizes, and won’t cause irritation.

You ask, “Is there a face sunscreen that covers all those bases?” My answer to you is, “YES!”

Here’s your new daily sheer sunscreen, specially formulated to be extra sensitive for your face. It’s SPF 40, and it is the go-to face sunscreen for everyday, whether under makeup or on its own.

Semi-Budget Travel Pro Tip!

Use blue tape (oh yeah, it’s on the Ultimate Packing List) to seal the lids of your liquid toiletries.

7 Travel Essentials for Women (3 to Carry It All)

eBags Pack-It-Flat Toiletry Kit

Now that you’ve got the top 4 products for a fresh face, you need something to carry them in.

I’ve had to many different toiletry kits over the years. Caboodles was the way to go in my youth, but they don’t pack too well in a suitcase or other bag. For a time, I had multiple small waterproof bags in different sizes to carry all the toiletries.

These days, there is one, and only one, toiletry kit that I use. It’s not bulky, it has waterproof compartments, and it carries all the stuff! “Pack-It-Flat” is even part of its name!

In terms of keeping all your toiletries in one place and being as space-saving as possible, this is the best toiletry kit in existence! Each one of our family of 4 has one in a different color, so it’s easy to tell them apart as well.

Pacsafe Vibe 20L Anti-Theft Daypack

This is the backpack you’ve dreamed about (for travel or otherwise)! Pacsafe has larger backpacks than this 20L size, but we found these to be perfect for our needs (and easy to manage). For the price, the anti-theft safety features that Pacsafe offers are unmatched.

Pacsafe products have a variety of next-level anti-theft technology, including:

  • Lock Down Technology
  • RFID-Safe Technology
  • Smart Zipper Security
  • Cut Resistant Technology

I haven’t found another backpack and bag company that even comes close to utilizing all of those anti-theft measures in their products. Better yet, besides all the safety features, this backpack is super comfortable to wear.

Pacsafe Citysafe CS200 Anti-Theft Handbag

Even traveling, I gotta have a purse. I took this Pacsafe purse and the Pacsafe backpack to southeast Asia, and they worked perfectly together! I loved this purse so much, it’s been my everyday purse ever since!

It has all the same amazing Pacsafe anti-theft safety features. I have always worn it crossbody, and I love how it lays close to the body. It has a nice, slim feel to it, even though it is a roomy bag.

Bonus Item!

Travelpro Maxlite 5 Expandable Spinner

If you’re not traveling like a backpacker (and I know I’m not!), then you’ll need a great piece of luggage to hold all the things! So, your bonus item is a Travelpro suitcase!

Travelpro luggage and bags are used by aviation professionals, casual vacationers, and everyone in between. Their products are well made and well thought out. And who can pass up their Eiffel Tower logo? Not me!

They have many collections to choose from, but our favorite is the Maxlite series. They are ultra-lightweight and ultra-durable and have a ton of great features, such as:

  • DuraGuard coating to resist water and stains
  • Tapered expandability to prevent tipping
  • H2O Guard to protect interior lining from moisture

If you are checking a bag, I recommend the 25-Inch Spinner.

If you want something a little smaller, and you don’t mind vying for overhead bin space, I recommend the 21-Inch Spinner.

Travelpro’s Maxlite 5 spinners are easy to handle and make it easy to fit everything in that you need for your travels.
