There are tons of travel laundry detergent options on the market these days. But, let’s face it. For those of us with sensitive skin, choosing just any random travel laundry detergent won’t work.
And, goodness knows that the options available at laundromats anywhere in the world would do a number on your sensitive skin, too!
Here, you’ll find some great ideas for which laundry detergent products to buy for your next trip! Our SBT Top Pick is: WashEZE 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets.
Try out all the options at home first to make sure they work for you. Then, pack ’em up and go! Your clothes and your skin will thank you!

Travel Laundry Detergent Sheets
Packing travel laundry detergent sheets is one of the most convenient and space-saving ways to take laundry detergent with you. Here’s our SBT Top Pick for travel laundry detergent!
[SBT Top Pick!] Best Unscented Travel Laundry Detergent:
WashEZE 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets
WashEZE laundry sheets are my #1 pick for travel laundry detergent for sensitive skin. I’ve done laundry all over the world with this product. Our clothes always come out clean, and there is nothing to bother our skin.
Just put one of the unscented WashEZE laundry sheets in the washing machine with your clothes, and run the load. Then, transfer the laundry sheet to the dryer along with your clothes, and you’re ready to go with an unscented dryer sheet.
The laundry sheets take up virtually no space in (and won’t weigh down) your luggage, and there’s no worries about liquid detergent spills or leaks.
Laundry Detergent Travel Packs
If laundry detergent sheets aren’t your jam, my next best travel laundry soap option is laundry packs, or laundry pods.
You can take as few or as many as you need, without having to take the entire bag. Just make sure to keep them dry before use.
Best Travel Laundry Detergent Packs:
Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Detergent Packs
Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Detergent Packs are what we used to do our laundry in Hawaii. Since we weren’t flying internationally, and we knew what the washer/dryer situation would be, these packs worked perfectly.
The laundry detergent packs work in both high-efficiency (HE) and standard washing machines. They also work in either hot or cold water.
You won’t have to worry about liquid detergent spills with these detergent packs either. When it’s not laundry time, just make sure to keep them sealed up and dry.
Travel Laundry Dryer Sheets
In addition to the WashEZE detergent sheets, I also pack a handful of regular dryer sheets. Just like detergent, the dryer sheets also need to be okay for our sensitive skin.
Best Travel Laundry Dryer Sheets:
Bounce Free & Gentle Dryer Sheets
Depending on the amount of laundry, add one or two of these Bounce Free & Gentle dryer sheets to your dryer load.
Even when I’m using WashEZE detergent sheets, which get transferred to the dryer along with the clothes, I still add these Bounce dryer sheets to the mix.
How do you wash clothes when traveling?
My preference for washing clothes when traveling is to stay at locations that have washing machine(s) and dryer(s). If that’s not available, other options are using the sink or bathtub in your lodging, if that doesn’t gross you out!
A better option is to pack and use a portable wash bag.
Best Portable Wash Bag:
Scrubba Washbag
How cool is this? The ability to wash your clothes whenever and wherever is fantastic!
And, guess what? The WashEZE detergent sheets will work in the Scrubba washbag. Just cut one WashEZE in half, and use it as the laundry soap in your Scrubba!
How do you machine wash delicates?
I choose to machine wash just about everything that we wear, and I mean, everything! And so, I need a way to protect some of the more delicate items.
Best Delicate Wash Bags
Protect the delicate features of some clothing and undergarments by using these delicates wash bags.
An added bonus is that they keep your underwear out of sight from others, if they come across your laundry in a community laundry room or laundromat. I’ve had that experience several times, and it’s a little awkward. Just saying.
Adjustable Travel Clothesline
If an electric or gas dryer is not available to dry your clothes when traveling, a sturdy travel clothesline is a big necessity.
Electric Travel Clothes Dryer
This electric travel clothes dryer is perfect for any traveler who wants to save time and money on hotel or city laundromats by doing their own laundry while they travel.
Best Travel Electric Clothes Dryer
This is a great alternative to air drying or relying on the tumble dryers wherever you are.
Don’t waste your time in the laundromat waiting for your clothes to *never* dry! Give this a try from the comfort of your room!
Travel Laundry Bag
If you need to transport your dirty clothes any distance, a good travel laundry bag is necessary. It’s an extra plus if the dirty clothes bag fits well in your luggage. That’s why we use large packing cubes as travel laundry bags!
Best Travel Laundry Bag:
Large Packing Cube
We often use packing cubes for our clean clothes, so why not use them for our dirty clothes as well?
Your dirty clothes will just pile up in regular laundry bags and cause a packing problem. Instead, use a large packing cube to pack your dirty clothes just like clean clothes.
When it’s time to do laundry, just carry the packing cube to the laundry area, and you’re good to go. When your laundry is done, bring your clean packing cubes back to pack everything up for the rest of your travels!
How do you pack laundry detergent for travel?
My preference is to stay away from liquid laundry detergent. It makes packing so much easier, and with the great choices above for sensitive skin, liquid detergent isn’t as necessary anymore. Plus, you won’t have to worry about the TSA liquid limits, if you’re only packing a carryon bag.
And so, the way that I pack laundry detergent for travel is to put together a small laundry kit.
Travel Laundry Kit
You can make your own sensitive skin travel laundry kit, using the items above! There’s no need to go looking for special travel size laundry detergent that will be good to your skin. You can pack these items in whatever quantities you need!
- WashEZE laundry detergent sheets
- Seventh Generation laundry detergent packs (pods)
- Bounce dryer sheets
- Scrubba portable washer
- Delicates wash bag(s)
- Travel clothesline
- Travel electric clothes dryer
