Summer may be coming to a close, but are you looking for one more fall getaway before winter sets in?
The La Quinta Resort just might be the place you’re looking for.
Temperatures in this part of California stay warm well into Fall. The La Quinta Resort is like an oasis in the middle of the desert, and it’s approximately 30 miles southeast of Palm Springs.
We (Nic&Cam) enjoyed an overnight there a couple weeks ago with our families.
With 41 pools on the property, it’s the ultimate in pool hopping for kids (& adults too)! (With all the potential moving around, you might want to AirTag your personal items!)
This resort map shows you how expansive the property is. And yes, it shows where each and every pool is too!
After check-in, you receive a welcome text from the front desk.
You may then text this number throughout your stay with any questions or needs that arise. This time, we utilized it to ask what the main pool hours were, to ask about seeing the lunch menu for the Centre Court Cafe (it was subsequently brought to our room!), and to request late check-out. Each request received a prompt response!
We did have one other issue that was fixed almost immediately. Upon arrival (in triple-digit temperatures), our rooms seemed to not be able to cool off. A call to the front desk had a maintenance engineer to our rooms in minutes. He added some freon to the A/C units, and it got as cold as we wanted it to be from then on forward.
Both of our families stayed in a Deluxe Casita Room with Private Patio.
The patio was the perfect place to eat our breakfast in the morning. Our stay this time was only for 1 night. In order to economize, and to maximize our time in the pools, we opted to bring sandwiches for dinner and some refrigerated breakfast items (yogurt & juice & cold brew coffee). We were prepared to keep our perishable items cold with our trusty Igloo rolling cooler that keeps ice actual ice for a day or two. We were pleasantly surprised, however, to find that our room had a mini fridge. Yay! After breakfast…
We spent the rest of the day at the Main Pool.
In between splashing around in the Main Pool (and adjacent kids wading pool), part of our morning was spent watching the solar eclipse with our homemade eclipse viewer. Our food splurge was ordering lunch from the poolside restaurant at the Main Pool, Centre Court Cafe. It was delivered right to us at our pool chaises.
All too soon, our less-than-24-hour getaway was complete.
We can’t wait until we can pool hop at the La Quinta Resort again! The desert beauty is amazing, and the accommodations are world-class, as the La Quinta Resort is a Waldorf Astoria Resort. Take the kids (or plan a romantic getaway) and go!
